The idea for creating sculptures using Longhorns came from years of working with horns and developing a deep appreciation for the material. The colors and shapes are like nothing else found in nature. Each piece is created to focus purely and simply on the beauty of the horn. While sorting through the hundreds of horns that I work with each year I set aside the ones with the most beautiful, interesting, and unique colors and shapes and those are what are used for the sculptures.
Ebony
Ebony
A truly unique, and absolutely beautiful pair of Longhorns with the same look and luster as Ebony wood. These horns are almost completely black, which is extremely rare for Longhorns. In the center of each are some layers of white that mix into the black creating a beautiful marbling effect. Horns are securely attached to each other and the joints are invisible. There is no base, the piece is cut, weighted and balanced to sit directly on a flat surface. Click on images to enlarge.
